During June 2017, Gunter Attorneys received the Lawyer International’s Legal 100 – 2017 Award for “Intellectual Property Law Firm of the Year – South Africa”. These awards recognize a select number of leading professional firms and individuals, across the globe, for their individual areas of specialization, within their geographical location. During the preceding 12 months, Lawyers International received 108 253 votes. The voting readers were asked to identify those firms and individuals that are noted for having a high degree of ability in complex situations, those that continually innovate, exhibit a high level of service, and provides overall value for money service. During May 2017, TMT Magazine chose Gunter Attorneys as part of their “Top 25 in IP”. The Top 25 is their comprehensive round-up of everything in the intellectual property sphere, intended to be a showcase of the very best firms that the past year has seen. During April 2017 Gunter Attorneys received Acquisition International Magazine’s 2017 African Excellence Award for South Africa. The African Excellence Awards are designed to recognise the top performing, most innovative and most interesting firms operating within Africa.

In March 2017 Gunter Attorneys received the 2017 IP Excellence Awards for “IP Law Firm of the Year – South Africa”. With the program being in its 4th consecutive year, this prestigious award highlights Gunter Attorneys as one of the most outstanding performers in the IP field.

The Lawyers Worldwide Awards Super Lawyers 2017 celebrates the leading, most prolific firms, which have continually displayed a high degree of quality, tenacity and ability to punch above their weight within their area of specialization. During the judging process many factors are considered, such as client retention, speed of response and assistance, and ability to navigate complex situations, whilst ensuring that the client is not concerned or unsure of what the outcome will be, regardless of the scale of the matter in question. The award organisers believe that it is imperative that all firms in receipt of a Lawyers Worldwide Awards Super Lawyers 2017 are made aware of the level of prestige that such an accolade provides, thus ensuring the Lawyers Worldwide Awards Super Lawyers 2017 are the penultimate of all awards campaigns. During February 2017 Gunter Attorneys received the Lawyers Worldwide Awards Super Lawyers 2017 award for “Intellectual Property Law Firm of the Year – South Africa”.

In January 2017 Wealth & Finance INTL selected Gunter Attorneys as the “Most Innovative Law Firm 2017” in South Africa, based on its performance during 2016. The award organisers have assessed the legal innovation of more than 100 unique law firms in over 15 countries and selected Gunter Attorneys as the exclusive winner from South Africa. The award seeks to draw attention to the standout legal innovations, exceptional achievements and contributions of individuals and/or organisations across all areas of the legal industry, from commercial litigation and arbitration to immigration law, insolvency, intellectual property and many more.

During September 2017 our peer nomination in the 2017 Legal Awards, proudly hosted by Acquisition International, was marked as successful. 2017 Most Innovative Business in South Africa
During July 2017 Gunter Attorneys was chosen as the “2017 Most Innovative Business in South Africa”. As part of the selection process AI looked for businesses that have demonstrated truly outstanding achievements within the past 12 months (July 2016 – July 2017) and have excelled in more than one of the following areas: (i) Innovation – those businesses that have introduced a new innovative product or process to their business that has revolutionised the way the company operates; (ii) New markets – by diversification either by way of a new product line, new service or operations into new jurisdictions; (iii) Increased market share – the business has excelled within its market and demonstrated increased profits/turnover; (iv) Rapid Growth – within this 12-month period.

The Worldwide Award Magazine Innovative Lawyers 2017 is created via a thorough, global poll of its readership. Votes are assessed by a panel of judges, who are chosen for their experience and knowledge of the industry, and who are asked to provide a comprehensive list of those firms that are “Innovative Lawyers” and in essence set the benchmark for all. During May 2017 Gunter Attorneys received a significant level of votes and were awarded as being “Innovative Lawyers” within the Lawyers Worldwide Awards Magazine Innovative Lawyers 2017.
