In November 2016 Gunter Attorneys was recognised in the 2016 Global Excellence Awards as “2016 Excellence Award: Most Outstanding IP Law Boutique.”  The awards were conducted based on a combination of qualitative and quantitative research techniques that assure that awards are allocated based on merit and allows for recognition of firms of all sizes and in all locations who have done extraordinary work over the past year.  In particular, the 2016 Global Excellence Awards were designed to recognise the very best in the business, whether they are a single office firm or an international conglomerate, and particularly award the paragons and the exemplars; those that are succeeding in their endeavours, innovating, growing and improving.

Following extensive research by Wealth & Finance International, Gunter Attorneys were named as “IP Practitioner of the Year 2016”, as the exclusive winner from South Africa.  The awards highlight and showcase the tireless work that is carried out by IP practitioners.  The award organisers examined the leading players in the IP industry and have allocated the awards to the teams who have best illustrated the following attributes: excellence in protecting and enforcing their clients’ most valuable IP assets; deliver high quality client services; have extensive experience in the IP field; understood their clients’ needs in the business world; international assignment success; recent award wins; inclusion in any third party and industry articles; presence across social media; and received positive customer feedback/testimonials. 

In September 2016 Gunter Attorneys was selected as the only firm from South Africa to be awarded Corporate Vision Magazine’s International IP Excellence Honours.  The Honours were awarded as a result of Gunter Attorneys’ impeccable service and commitment to achieving the very best results for their clients.

In September 2016 Gunter Attorneys was selected as a winner in the Acquisition International 2016 Legal Awards for “Most Trusted IP Law Firm – South Africa”. 

During August 2016 Gunter Attorneys was selected as a “Top 25 in IP” winner by TMT News.  These awards are given to key firms in each country who are making waves across all areas of IP, from patents and trademarks to everything in-between, and is particularly given to firms who, over the past 12 months, have (i) Demonstrated a truly innovative approach to matters of IP; (ii) Achieved outstanding levels of client satisfaction; (iii) Expanded into new areas within IP; (iv) Won previous accolades within the field; and (v) Received significant positive client recommendations / testimonials.

Gunter Attorneys was nominated in the 5th annual M&A Awards, sponsored by DealFlow Source, and received the award for “Best IP Law Boutique 2016 – South Africa”.  This achievement marks Gunter Attorneys out as one of the most outstanding performers in the IP field.

The Worldwide Financial Advisor Awards Magazine celebrates the leading, most prolific firms that have continually displayed a high degree of quality, tenacity and ability to punch above their weight within their area of specialization.  Gunter Attorneys was a winner in the Worldwide Financial Advisor Awards Magazine Superior Lawyers 2016 campaign and received the award for “Intellectual Property Law Firm of the Year 2016 – South Africa”.
